When Your Body Changes the Plan

Sometimes your body changes the course of your life without asking permission.

Maybe you’ve received a new diagnosis. Maybe you’re still searching for one. Maybe you simply know that something isn’t right and you’re tired of trying to explain it.

Suddenly, life can become filled with appointments, tests, medications, uncertainty and questions you never imagined having to ask.

Who am I now?

What can I still count on?

How do I live when my body isn’t cooperating?

How do I make peace with what I cannot control?

And how do I keep becoming when life looks nothing like I thought it would?

There is a particular loneliness in having a body that has become unpredictable.

This is where coaching can help.

I work with people navigating illness, chronic symptoms, new diagnoses and the uncertainty that can come before a diagnosis. Together, we make space for the very real grief, fear, anger and exhaustion that can accompany a changing body—while also looking toward what is still possible.

This isn’t about positive thinking or pretending that everything happens for a reason.

It’s about learning how to live fully inside the life you actually have.

We’ll explore identity, relationships, boundaries, purpose, self-advocacy, resilience and the small choices that can help you feel like yourself again.

I won’t tell you what your medical treatment should be. That’s the work of your medical team.

My work is with the human being living inside the diagnosis or living inside the uncertainty of not having one yet.

You don’t have to wait until you’re better to begin living.
